Built by Dropshippers,
For Dropshippers
We are a team of e-commerce operators, software developers, and digital marketers who have been building and scaling dropshipping businesses since 2017. DropShipCalc Pro exists because we needed these tools ourselves and could not find them online for free.
Last updated: July 2026
Our Story
In 2019, we launched our first dropshipping store. Within 3 months, we had spent $2,400 on Facebook ads and made $800 in revenue. The math was brutal — we were losing money on every single sale, and we had no idea until we actually sat down and did the calculation properly.
The problem was that every free calculator we found online either gave us the wrong answer or required us to create an account. The ones that were accurate were hidden behind paid subscriptions. So we built our own.
DropShipCalc Pro launched in 2025 as a free tool for the dropshipping community. Our goal is simple: give every dropshipper — beginner or experienced — the same accurate financial tools that profitable store owners use internally, completely free, without capturing your data.
What Makes Us Different
There are three things that set DropShipCalc Pro apart from other free calculators on the internet:
1. Accuracy over everything. We verify every fee rate against official sources before publishing it. When PayPal, Stripe, or Shopify change their pricing, we update our calculators within 48 hours of the change being publicly announced.
2. Complete calculations. Most free calculators show you the gross profit but forget the fixed transaction fees, platform charges, and shipping costs. We include every cost that affects your real profit — because in dropshipping, the margins are tight enough without hidden fees eating into them.
3. Educational context. Every calculator on this site explains not just the result but the methodology behind it. We show you the formula, explain why each fee matters, and give you benchmarks to contextualize your numbers. We believe that understanding the math makes you a better business operator.
The Problem We Set Out to Solve
When we launched our first dropshipping store in 2019, we made the same mistake that most beginners make: we saw a $3 product on AliExpress, checked what similar items sold for on Amazon ($29.99), and did the math in our heads. "That's $26.99 profit per sale," we thought. "If we sell 50 per month, that's $1,349. This is going to be great."
Three months later we had spent $2,400 on Facebook ads, made $800 in revenue, and had 12 chargebacks sitting in our PayPal account. The math had betrayed us — not because we were bad at arithmetic, but because we had forgotten to count all the numbers. Shopify's 2% transaction fee. PayPal's 2.99% + $0.30. The $1.50 per-unit shipping cost from our supplier. The 10% return rate on a product we had not vetted properly. The cost of customer service time. None of it appeared in our mental math.
When we finally sat down with a spreadsheet and did the calculation properly — including every fee, every cost, every variable — we discovered that our "26.99 profit" was actually a $3.42 loss per sale. We had been selling at a loss for three months without knowing it.
That realization led us to build DropShipCalc Pro. We wanted a tool that would show beginners the real math, before they lost money, not after.
Why Existing Calculators Failed Us
Before building DropShipCalc Pro, we spent weeks looking for free tools that would give us accurate profit calculations. What we found instead were three categories of tools that consistently let us down:
1. Generic e-commerce calculators that forgot payment processor fixed fees. Most "profit margin calculators" we found calculated percentage-based fees correctly but completely ignored the $0.30 per-transaction fixed fee that every payment processor charges. On a $3 product that sounds negligible. On 500 transactions per month, that is $150 in fees the calculator never showed us.
2. Paywalled tools that required signup before showing results. Several tools we found appeared free until you entered your numbers and hit calculate — then a popup demanded an email address. We understand the business model, but for quick calculations during product research, this friction killed our workflow. We did not want to create an account to run basic math.
3. Tools with outdated fee rates from 2018 or 2019. Payment processors change their rates regularly. Several tools we found were still using 2.5% PayPal rates from years ago. Running our numbers through a calculator with incorrect rates gave us false confidence — the numbers looked good, but the reality was different because the underlying inputs were wrong.
DropShipCalc Pro was built to solve all three problems: accurate fee rates, no paywall, and complete calculations that include every variable.
How We Ensure Calculator Accuracy
Accuracy is our core promise. Here is exactly how we maintain it:
Source verification: Every fee rate used in our calculators is verified against the official published rate card for that payment processor. We do not estimate. When PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, or Square update their rates, we update our calculators within 72 hours of the change being publicly announced.
Formula auditing: Every calculator formula is reviewed by at least two team members before publication. We test calculators with known input/output pairs to verify accuracy. For example, we test the Profit Margin Calculator with a $50 sale, $15 product cost, and standard 2.9% + $0.30 fees — the expected result is known and we verify our calculator produces it exactly.
User feedback loop: Our contact form has a dedicated "Calculator Error" category. When users report errors, our team investigates and corrects within 48 hours. We maintain a changelog for all calculator updates so users can see exactly what changed and when.
Independent verification: We encourage mathematically confident users to verify our formulas independently. Every calculator shows its methodology and formula, so anyone with a calculator can check our math. We have had multiple users email us to confirm our formulas are correct — and some who found edge cases we had not considered, which we then fixed.
Our Calculators: Complete Descriptions
Each of our 12 calculators is built for a specific, real-world decision that every dropshipper faces. Here is a detailed explanation of why each exists and what problem it solves:
1. Profit Margin Calculator
The most fundamental tool in our suite. Enter your selling price, product cost, shipping costs, platform fee percentage, payment processor percentage, and fixed transaction fee. The calculator outputs your gross profit, net profit per unit, and net profit margin percentage. Most importantly, it shows a line-by-line breakdown of every cost so you can see exactly where your money goes. This is the tool you use before listing any product.
2. Dropshipping ROI Calculator
Product-level math tells you if a product can be profitable. Business-level math tells you if your entire store is profitable. This calculator takes your monthly ad spend, order count, average order value, and net margin and tells you your true monthly return on investment. It separates the numbers that "feel" good from the numbers that actually are good.
3. Shipping Cost Calculator
AliExpress shipping costs are complex — they vary by weight, destination country, shipping method, and supplier. This calculator handles all those variables and gives you a true per-unit landed cost. It also accounts for handling fees, customs/duty estimates, and surcharge rates for specific product categories.
4. Product Pricing Calculator
If you know your cost and target a specific profit margin, this calculator works backwards to tell you exactly what price you need to charge. It is the inverse of the Profit Margin Calculator — instead of asking "what is my margin at this price?" it asks "what price do I need to charge for a 35% margin?" Use this when you have a target margin in mind and need to find your price point.
5. Break-Even Calculator
Before you commit to a product, you need to know how many sales you need to cover your fixed costs — your Shopify subscription, your app fees, your hosting costs. This calculator tells you the exact unit count and revenue threshold you need to hit before you make a single dollar of profit. If that number seems unrealistic, the product is not worth pursuing.
6. AliExpress to Shopify Calculator
Sellers who source from AliExpress and sell on Shopify have a specific calculation need: what price on Shopify produces my target margin when starting from AliExpress cost? This calculator was built for that exact use case. It factors in AliExpress product cost, AliExpress shipping to you (if applicable), Shopify fee, and payment processing to recommend a Shopify price.
7. Facebook Ads ROAS Calculator
Running Facebook ads without knowing your required ROAS is like driving without knowing your destination. This calculator tells you the minimum ROAS you need to break even, and the ROAS you need to hit any monthly profit target you set. It is the most important tool for planning ad campaigns and preventing the kind of ad spend losses we experienced in our first months.
8. Niche Profitability Score Calculator
Niche selection is the highest-leverage decision in dropshipping. Pick the wrong niche and even excellent marketing cannot save you. Pick the right niche and moderate marketing can still be profitable. This calculator scores a niche across five dimensions — competition, demand, profit margin potential, shipping difficulty, and trend stability — and gives you an overall profitability score to guide your decision.
9. Monthly Revenue Target Calculator
If your goal is to make $5,000/month profit, this calculator tells you exactly how many orders you need to sell per day to hit that goal, how much website traffic that requires at your conversion rate, and what your average order value needs to be. It turns an abstract income goal into concrete daily operational targets.
10. PayPal and Stripe Fee Calculator
A standalone reference for payment processing costs. Enter any sale amount and select your payment processor to see exactly what the processor takes — percentage fee, fixed fee, and total. Useful for understanding the cost of different processors and for reconciling your actual processing statements against expected costs.
11. Supplier Cost Comparison Calculator
Supplier selection affects your cost base for every product you sell. This calculator compares two suppliers side-by-side across product cost, shipping cost, and processing fees to find the true cost per unit for each supplier. It also scales results to monthly volume to show the real dollar impact of choosing one supplier over another.
12. Dropshipping Tax Estimator
Tax obligations catch many dropshippers by surprise. This calculator helps you plan by estimating your quarterly tax payment based on your monthly net profit estimate, your country of residence, and your estimated deductible business expenses. It is an approximation — always confirm with a CPA — but it gives you a solid planning number so you can set aside the right amount each month.
Our Commitment to Privacy
DropShipCalc Pro does not sell your data. We do not track your calculator inputs. We do not use cookies to build a behavioral profile of you. When you use our calculators, all the math happens in your browser using JavaScript — the numbers you type into our input fields are processed locally by your device's browser and are never transmitted to any server we operate.
We use Google Analytics 4 in anonymized mode to understand aggregate site traffic — which pages are most visited, how long visitors spend on pages, device types, and country-level geographic data. This data cannot be used to identify individual users. We do not use Google Analytics data for advertising targeting or user profiling.
Our full privacy practices are documented in our Privacy Policy, which covers data collection, data retention, your rights under CCPA/CPRA and GDPR, and our use of cookies.
Our Fee Sources and Verification
We are committed to accuracy because we know how consequential these numbers are for the businesses that rely on them. Here are the official sources we use to verify fee rates:
- PayPal merchant fees: Verified against paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/merchant-fees. We check this page quarterly for rate changes.
- Stripe pricing: Verified against stripe.com/pricing. We check for updates when Stripe publishes changes (typically announced on their Changelog at stripe.com/changelog).
- Shopify Payments: Verified against shopify.com/payments. We monitor Shopify's partner blog and changelog for rate updates.
- Square merchant services: Verified against squareup.com/us/en/payments/online-payments.
- IRS self-employment tax: Verified against irs.gov/self-employment-tax and IRS publication on self-employment tax calculation.
Editorial Standards and Content Philosophy
All content on DropShipCalc Pro is written by team members with direct, hands-on experience in e-commerce and dropshipping. We do not publish content we have not personally researched, tested, or verified. Here is our editorial process:
Writing: Every article, guide, and calculator description is written by a team member who has operated a dropshipping store or managed paid advertising campaigns. We write from experience, not from speculation.
Fact-checking: All fee rates, tax percentages, and calculation formulas are verified against official sources before publication. Numbers are not estimated or rounded to simplify the writing — if the real rate is 2.99%, we use 2.99%, not 3%.
Review: Before any new content is published, it is reviewed by at least one other team member for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Errors identified in review are corrected before publication.
Updates: We review all fee rate content quarterly. When payment processors update their rates, we update the relevant calculator within 72 hours and update the corresponding content within two weeks.
No affiliate links: We do not earn commission from any recommendation we make. Our links to PayPal, Stripe, Shopify, and other tools go to their official websites. We link to them because they are the tools our audience uses — not because we earn anything from those links.
How We Are Funded
DropShipCalc Pro is funded through Google AdSense advertising revenue. We display relevant, non-intrusive ads from Google's advertising network. We do not sell individual user data, we do not run display advertising networks that track users across sites, and we do not participate in any form of affiliate marketing.
Ad placements on this site are designed to be relevant to our audience (dropshipping, e-commerce, small business, finance) without being intrusive or slowing down page load times. We do not display pop-up ads, auto-playing video ads, or any format that degrades the user experience.
We apply for Google AdSense approval once our site has enough content and traffic to meet Google's quality requirements. Until then, the site operates without third-party advertising.
